November 2011 Goals

Wow.  It’s already November 7, and I am just sitting down to this.  If I wait any longer I may forego it all together, so here goes.  First,  a look at October.  Last month I didn’t print out my goals again.  I think that makes a big difference — in my brief glance over the details below, I realize that I forgot that I was even trying to do a great number of the things I had listed.  <le sigh>

 

Food:
I would like to loosen up this month.  I have already added back in rice noodles and rice pasta.  Yum!!  I (have already had) and will have some cheats this month for my birthday and Halloween.  I am OK with that.
– No Alcohol for the first ten days of the month (on antibiotics, so kinda externally beholden)
– Paleo w/ rice except for four predetermined cheats: 10/15, 10/18, 10/29, 10/31 (my birthday party, my birthday, Andi and Brandon’s party, Halloween) Oh, and the ice cream and chocolate I already had last night.
– Absolutely no drinking alone
Well, I did certainly meet my goal of loosening up.  I had a few more than the scheduled cheats, but I didn’t feel like it was a crazy off-wagon ride.  It felt pretty contained, and there are certain foods I don’t even really want now because I am fixated on how they make me feel, so that’s good.  Last night I was hit with bread and cheese, and as yummy as they looked, I didn’t want to suffer the consequences (achy joints and bad breath respectively), so I went without.
I did well with the drinking, I think, and even thought parties and Halloween have me teetering on the edge, I still feel like things are manageable; the dark side doesn’t seem so appealing, so yay for that.
Exercise/Body:
– Not gonna try and lose weight this month.  I mean with four cheat days it’d be pretty tricky.  Just trying to hold steady.
– 20 workouts.  Yes please!
– 4 longer workouts (I’m addicted to these half hour dealios.  Soooo good!)
– 3 Tony walks
– Pole when I feel like it
– 4 longer stretching sessions
Wow.  Wish I’d remembered half the stuff I wrote here during the month.
– Did fine with weight — may have even lost a few pounds not drinking in the first ten days of the month.
– Maybe 2 or three longer workouts, but Jillian is so flippin’ good in a short amount of time, what’s the point?
– I did the walks.  Yay!
– I also played on the pole a few times — mainly just at Andi’s party (ugh)
Writing/life
– Yes please, Food Diary — pretty good
– start AngstWritten blog — 2 videos — Yes!
– Post one video on Boob Juice — yes!
– 4 non-parenting tip posts — 3 longer posts, but very few posts all month
– Write one paid article for Yahoo — wow, didn’t even remember I wanted to do this
– Comment daily on someone else’s blog — pretty good.  I’d say about 89%
– Finish Halloween costumes: Mosa, Dev  Yes!  Fab-0!
– Finish budget and open bank account — not so much.  Almost done with the budget.  Avoided it most of the month
Child:
-Enroll in preschool OR find sitter — sitter found!
– 1/2 hour of focused one-on-one time a day — was not as consistent as I had hoped
– maintain and update calendar — I don’t even know what I meant here.
– one mom/dad/dev event — we spent some good time together
– swim class — no
Wow!  So, two more days passed since I started this.  November is almost half over, and I don’t even know what I plan to accomplish this month.
hmmmm…
Food:
I am aiming for mostly paleo with some slip up room here and there.  I would really like to evolve into a more natural way of eating that is not so strictly regimented.  Perhaps holiday time is the wrong time of year to test this strategy, but here goes!  Freedom!  (The first week of the month, I went without coffee and grains entirely, but I did manage to have a few too many sugar and fake sugar treats).
I do plan to document my intake — I know I fell off at the end of October.
Exercise:
I am pasting my goals from last month.  They feel pretty solid:
– 20 workouts.
– 4 longer workouts (I’m addicted to these half hour dealios.  Soooo good!) (I’ve already done one.  Yippee!)
– 3 Tony walks
– 4 longer stretching sessions — my back is still wonky, so this is essential.
Writing/life
– Food Diary
– Fabulous new name for Angst Written
– 2 notes posted in Angst Written
– Post one video on Boob Juice
– Write everyday for boobjuice as per NaBloPoMo
– Write one paid article for Yahoo — let me try again with this
– Comment daily on someone else’s blog
– Design Cap Day card
– organize list of holiday cards to be sent
– List of holiday presents (Ugh!)
– Finish budget and open bank account
Child:
– 1/2 hour of focused one-on-one time a day
– set up Montessori area
– start new gymnastics class
– one mom/dad/dev event — we spent some good time together
